loot from the festival

i was extremely restrained in my shopping at the festival of quilts - I don't know how I kept my resolve - except i'm very aware of the size of my stash!! anyway I did indulge in this little bundle of luscious Donegal tweed (I do have a tiny bit more of this stuff that I bought in Dublin) and my plan is to make a tunic or pinafore dress for the winter - yes dressmaking! watch this space.

well here are a few images from the show, I've been home 2 days and still haven't unpacked properly probably because I don't want the bother of putting everything away but I have been cleaning the house like a maniac and rearranging stuff. I'm sort of getting ready for my enforced rest because i'm having a foot operation on Thursday and just know that it will drive me mad if i'm sat in the middle of a tip! Got to go shopping tomorrow to stock up the cupboards as I won't be driving for 4 or 5 weeks - the car will get a rest and I've got some projects to get on with.

trip to Ryedale

last weekend I went up to Ryedale to speak at the afternoon meeting of Ryedale embroiderers guild, lovely to meet such a great group of stitchers in such a wonderful area. I have to thank my hosts Imelda and jim for looking after me so well and I fell in love with their cavalier spaniels who would do just about anything for a biscuit!
