last weekend I went down to Elstree to meet up with the ladies from the connecting threads group this time the day was spent making small purses or bags from kunin felt. it was particularly nice to see a finished piece from the previous workshop day



 

garden project

sometimes my textile work has to take a back seat while we get on with other projects a little bit of sunshine and a rise in temperature takes us out into the garden and after a bit of persuasion raised beds seemed to be the way forward, its amazing how quickly they have gone together - something to do with the price of  commercial ones  when I threatened to order them - suddenly some timber and soil miraculously appeared watch this space for progess!

had a really good day at the workshop at north kilworth - here are some of the ladies working hard on their wall projects and I wanted to show you Dorothy's lovely quilt made after the last workshop day on medieval tiles. its great to see the finished work. looking forward to my return visit in February.

been playing with new york beauty blocks - perfect points and beautiful curved piecing. if you want to have a go with a bit of tuition come along to sew much to do in ely i'm leading a workshop day on 17th may.

we had planned a family weekend in derbyshire walking in the spring countryside but found ourselves in a winter wonderland instead!
